We are the Responsible Party under POPIA for any personal information collected via this website.
What we collect and why
We collect the minimum information needed to answer your enquiries and improve our service.
When you enquire about an animal, equipment, delivery, or the Goat Guide: your name (if you provide it), your phone number (when you open a WhatsApp conversation with us), your location or town (if you provide it for delivery purposes), and the content of your message.
When you submit our contact form: name, phone number, email address, and your message content.
When you reserve an animal batch: name and phone number.
When you browse the website: with your consent, we use Google Analytics cookies to understand how visitors use the site. This data is aggregated and does not personally identify you. If you decline cookies, the site works identically.
We do not collect: payment card information, ID numbers, any special personal information as defined by POPIA, or information about children under 18 unless provided by a parent or guardian.
How long we keep it
- Enquiries and contact form submissions: kept for 3 years after your last interaction, then deleted.
- Reservation records: kept for 1 year.
- Analytics data: anonymised and retained for 14 months (Google Analytics default).
If you ask us to delete your information sooner, we will.
Who we share it with
We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information.
We share it only with:
- WhatsApp (Meta Platforms Ireland Ltd) — when you click a WhatsApp button, Meta's own privacy policy applies.
- Supabase — our website database provider. Data is stored securely on their servers.
- Google — only if you have accepted cookies. See Google's privacy policy for their handling.
- Our livestock transport partners — only your delivery address and contact number, only when delivery is scheduled.
- Law enforcement or courts — only if legally required.
Your rights under POPIA
You have the right to know what personal information we hold, receive a copy of it, correct it if wrong, ask us to delete it, object to how we use it, withdraw consent for cookies or marketing at any time, and complain to the Information Regulator.
To exercise any of these rights, email admin@cklivestock.co.za with the subject line "POPIA request". We will respond within 30 days.

How we protect your information
All data is stored in access-controlled databases with encrypted connections. Only nominated staff have login access to the admin panel, protected by strong passwords. We do not keep paper copies of your information. We review security practices regularly.
No system is 100% secure. If we ever suffer a breach that affects your information, we will notify you and the Information Regulator as required by POPIA.
Cookies
We use two types of cookies:
- Strictly necessary cookies: required for the site to work (e.g. remembering your equipment enquiry list). Cannot be disabled.
- Analytics cookies (Google Analytics 4): optional. Only set if you accept via the cookie banner.
You can clear cookies at any time in your browser settings.
Children
Our site is not directed at children under 18. If you are under 18, please do not submit any information through the site.
Changes to this policy
If we make significant changes, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top and, where appropriate, let you know via a banner on the site.
