About the Savanna
Savanna goats were developed in South Africa from indigenous stock, selected for hardiness, parasite resistance and good mothering. Their pure white coat and pigmented skin handle the South African sun well, making them a strong choice for extensive systems in Limpopo, North West and the Free State.
They cross particularly well with Boer goats — many commercial farmers use Savanna ewes as the dam line for hybrid vigour and easier-keeping herds.
