2. Using the website
The website is provided as a way to browse available livestock and equipment and to send enquiries via WhatsApp. You may use it for personal, non-commercial purposes. You may not scrape, copy, republish, or use our content or photos without written permission.
3. Product information and availability
We work hard to keep stock and prices current, but the website is not a guaranteed real-time catalogue.
Animal listings reflect stock at the time of publication. Animals may be reserved or sold between when you see a listing and when you enquire. We will tell you promptly if this is the case.
Equipment stock statuses are updated by us as supply changes. Treat them as indicative, not guaranteed.
Prices displayed exclude delivery unless explicitly stated.
Photos represent the breed and general stock quality. For a specific batch, we will send current photos on request before any payment is made.
4. How a sale works
- You enquire via WhatsApp, phone, or the website.
- We confirm availability and send you a written quote listing the animals or equipment, price, and any delivery cost.
- You confirm and we send you banking details.
- On receipt of cleared payment we book transport or prepare for collection.
- We deliver or hand over the animals or equipment together with a health certificate and invoice.
A sale is only concluded when we have both confirmed the order to you in writing and received cleared payment.
5. Payment
Accepted methods: EFT, PayShap, or cash on collection. We do not process card payments on the website. For large orders we may request a non-refundable deposit to secure stock. Outstanding balances must be settled before animals or equipment leave our premises.
6. Delivery
Gauteng and surrounds: standard delivery, typically 1–3 working days from confirmed booking. Other provinces: available on request with a quote.
Risk passes to you on delivery. You must be present or have a representative present to receive delivery. If no-one is available at the agreed time, a re-delivery fee may apply.
We are not liable for delays caused by weather, vehicle breakdowns outside our control, or road closures, but we will always communicate and find a workable alternative.
7. Health guarantee on animals
Every animal is vaccinated and accompanied by a health certificate.
If a major health issue is identified within 7 days of delivery, contact us immediately with photos or video evidence and a vet's opinion. We will assess in good faith and will either refund the purchase price, replace the animal, or contribute to reasonable vet costs up to the purchase price.
The 7-day guarantee does not cover injuries caused after delivery, conditions caused by poor feeding or shelter on your property, or animals transported again without our knowledge.
Pregnancy outcomes are not guaranteed.
8. Equipment returns
Defective or damaged equipment: report within 7 days of delivery. We will repair, replace, or refund at our discretion. Change of mind: we do not offer returns for change of mind except by prior written agreement. Lucerne, hay, feed, and supplements are non-returnable once delivered.
9. The Goat Guide
The Goat Guide is a digital PDF delivered via WhatsApp after payment. Because it is a digital product, refunds are not offered once the file has been sent. You may use it for personal farming use only — not for resale or redistribution. Updates issued within 12 months of purchase will be sent to you free.
10. Consumer Protection Act
Nothing in these terms overrides the Consumer Protection Act, 2008. Where the Act gives you rights beyond what is written here, those rights still apply.
11. Limitation of liability
Our total liability is limited to the amount you actually paid us for the specific animals, equipment, or digital product in question. We are not liable for indirect or consequential damages. Nothing in this clause limits our liability for death, personal injury, gross negligence, or fraud.
12. Intellectual property
All content on the website — photos, written content, the Goat Guide — is owned by CK Livestock Trading (Pty) Ltd or licensed to us. Do not republish our photos, videos, or written content without written permission.
13. Events outside our control
We are not liable for failure or delay caused by load-shedding beyond normal levels, fuel shortages, natural disasters, civil unrest, or disease-control movement restrictions. We will communicate openly and either reschedule or refund.
14. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms from time to time. The terms that apply to your purchase are the ones published on the day you placed your order.
15. Governing law and disputes
These terms are governed by the law of the Republic of South Africa. Any dispute we cannot resolve by discussion will be subject to the jurisdiction of the South African courts.
